We’re so blessed to know the very best of people and we can’t wait to perform as @thecityseltzers for you, give away tons of free stuff, and have all of you under the same roof mingling, making new friends, making deals, and singing together the entire evening. The Dramatist Guild's Footlight series presents a reading of 'The Good Father' at Paramount Theatre in Peekskill

THE GOOD FATHER, by Adrienne LaValley (Peekskill, NY.)- A family with generational bipolar disorder and what happens when that goes unchecked, allowing every new generation to be deeply affected in their own way. It sheds light on the decades of irreparable damage that can be caused by choosing to keep silent about a family’s mental illness. Shame and fear perpetuate the idea that hurt people, hurt people.

Paramount Hudson Valley Arts is delighted to host the Dramatists Guild Footlight Series DG Footlights™ a program, created and moderated by the Dramatists Guild, that connects dramatists with space in which to hold a public reading of a new work that is currently in development. The readings are open and free to the public. To reserve your spot email the box office at boxoffice@paramounthudsonvalley.com.

ZERO to SIXTY: A Journey from then to Now

From Zero to Sixty is an evening of dance, music and memories, including a tribute to Hellmut Gottschild, Founder and Director of ZeroMoving Dance Company. Choreographers Renee Banson, Lisa Bardarson, Terry Beck, Patty Veit and Christine Vilardo will present an evening of new and reconstructed works. The artists have a deep connection to ZeroMoving Dance Company, having been inspired and influenced by company founder and Artistic Director Helmut Gottschild’s teaching and creative process. They have a history with each other in shared performance projects and have continuing bodies of work as independent dance and performance artists. Lighting design is by Nanette Hudson; Composer Paul Epstein will contribute music to the concert; and Edrie Ferdun and Linda Caruso Haviland, among other Zero alums, will speak. Banson will premiere a new work and perform a solo from Terry Beck’s earlier work, “Dig.” Bardarson presents two premieres—“Swantown” plus a trio with Tim Early and Sheila Zagar. Beck will premiere a new solo, “Harbour,” which continues a group work that he created for Rubicon Dance in Cardiff, Wales. Veit will present “In The Deep Dawn,” joined by 10 year old Aliyah Shapiro. Vilardo will present a revised version of “bits of broken glass and fine china,” along with Janet Pilla, Linda Caruso Haviland, Dawn Morningstar, Sarah Schlechter and percussionist, Flossie Ierardi. Videos of ZeroMoving Company at work and in performance will be screened and Zero alums will also join in an improvisation that embodies their re-calling of seminal works by Gottschild.
